THE WESTERMAN COAT OF ARMS HEREBY ILLUSTRATED
IS OFFICIALLY DOCUMENTED IN "BURKES GENERAL ARMORY." THE ORIGINAL
DESCRIPTION OF THE ARMS (SHIELD) IS AS FOLLOWS: "PER CHEV. OR AND SA. IN CHIEF THREE CINQUEFOILS AND IN BASE A LION RAMP COUNTERCHANGED." WHEN TRANSLATED THE BLAZON ALSO DESCRIBES THE ORIGINAL COLORS OF THE WESTERMAN ARMS AS: "DIVIDED CHEVRON WISE GOLD AND BLACK; IN TOP ARE THREE CINQUEFOILS AND IN BASE IS A LION ATTACKING, ALL COUNTERCHANGED." ABOVE THE SHIELD AND HELMET IS THE CREST WHICH IS DESCRIBED AS: "A HALF GREYHOUND DIVIDED CHEVRON WISE GOLD AND BLACK, HOLDING BACK ITS PAWS, A BLACK CINQUEFOIL." |
